Content | OSUN-OSOGBO GROOVE   The Osun-Oshogbo sacred groove is located along the bank of Osun river in Osogbo local government Area of Osun State, South Western Nigeria It is a sacred groove in a sacred forest that forms part of Yoruba cultural tradition. It is the domicile of Osun, the Yoruba goddess of fertility.    The site consists of 40 shrines, 2 palaces, many sculptures and other works of art. The Osun groove was declared world heritage site by United Nations Educational, Scientific and cultural Organization (UNESCO) on 15 July, 2005. It has become major tourist attraction both to the local and international users. It could become e major source of income to the state government.
