Applications are now open for the highly coveted Enterprising Futures Scholarship, an initiative jointly established by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and Orange Corners, in partnership with One Young World.

The One Young World Summit 2023: Scheduled to take place from 2nd to 5th October in Belfast, United Kingdom, the One Young World Summit is an unparalleled global platform that brings together over 2,000 young leaders from 190+ nations. This unique event provides a forum for delegates to present, discuss, and collaborate on innovative solutions to address pressing global issues alongside influential senior leaders. Attendees gain access to a vibrant network of changemakers and an environment conducive to expanding successful initiatives and driving positive change.

The Mission of Dutch MFA and Orange Corners: The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with Orange Corners, is committed to investing in education and youth employment. With a focus on developing and fragile states, they aim to enhance the prospects of young individuals by bridging the gap between the skills they acquire and the requirements of the labor market. Through the establishment of the annual Enterprising Futures Scholarship, they are paving the way for young leaders and entrepreneurs to engage with a global network of like-minded individuals at the One Young World Summit.

Enterprising Futures Scholarship

Benefits of the Enterprising Futures Scholarship: The Enterprising Futures Scholarship offers a range of benefits to the selected candidates. These include:

1. Access to Additional Events: Scholarship recipients gain exclusive access to events organized by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Orange Corners, providing further opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing.
2. Participation in One Young World Summit 2023: The scholarship entitles recipients to attend the highly acclaimed One Young World Summit in Belfast, where they can connect with global leaders, share their insights, and collaborate on solutions for a better future.
3. Hotel Accommodation: Accommodation during the Summit dates is fully covered, ensuring a comfortable stay for the duration of the event.
4. Visa Assistance: Candidates requiring visas for travel will receive one night of hotel accommodation specifically for the visa application process, making their journey hassle-free.
5. Additional Pre-Summit Night: For those needing extra time to prepare, an additional night of accommodation before the Summit is provided.
6. Travel Coverage: The scholarship covers the cost of round-trip travel in economy class to and from the Summit’s host city, as well as domestic travel expenses to reach the airport for the international flight.
7. Visa Costs: If applicable, visa costs and the required travel for visa appointments will be fully covered.
8. Catering: The scholarship includes breakfast at the hotel accommodation, as well as lunch and dinner during the Summit, ensuring that recipients can focus on their engagement without worrying about meals.
9. Transport Services: Convenient transportation between the Summit accommodation and the venue is arranged for the scholarship recipients.
10. Lifetime Membership: Successful candidates will receive a lifetime membership to the One Young World community, allowing them to stay connected with fellow leaders and access a wealth of resources and opportunities in the future.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for the Enterprising Futures Scholarship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

1. Age Requirement: Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 34 by the date of the One Young World 2023 Summit in October.
2. Active Engagement
3. Nationals of and residents in one of the following countries: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iraq including Kurdistan region of Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Mali, Mozambique, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria, Palestinian Territories, Senegal, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Tunisia, Uganda. Please note that candidates with refugee status are certainly eligible.
4. Candidates must be available to join the programme full-time between 1 and 6 October 2023, as well as pre- and post-programme dates.

NOTE: All candidates will be required to have a working understanding of English, as both the One Young World Summit and Enterprising Futures pre- and post-programmes will be held in English.
