Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) is a renowned state-owned university located in Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, Nigeria. Established in 1982 and formerly known as Ogun State University (OSU), the institution was renamed in honor of Chief Olabisi Onabanjo, a former governor of Ogun State who played a pivotal role in founding the school. Over the decades, OOU has grown to become one of the most respected universities in southwestern Nigeria, offering a broad spectrum of academic programs across disciplines such as Medicine, Law, Engineering, Arts, Management Sciences, Social Sciences, Basic Sciences, and Education. With a focus on excellence in teaching, research, and community development, the university boasts multiple campuses and a student population running into tens of thousands. The school operates under a well-structured academic calendar and is recognized by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

As a prospective or returning student, understanding the full OOU school fees structure for the 2025/2026 academic session is crucial for effective financial planning. This guide offers a detailed look at the tuition fees, acceptance fee, additional levies, and other required payments for all categories of students.

OOU School Fees for Freshers (New Students)

If you have just gained admission into Olabisi Onabanjo University, congratulations! As a fresher, the first financial commitment you must make is the payment of your non-refundable acceptance fee, which is a prerequisite for full registration and clearance.

  • Acceptance Fee: ₦75,000

  • Tuition Fees: From ₦85,288 upward depending on your department or faculty

Some faculties, especially Medicine, Law, Pharmacy, and Engineering, attract higher tuition due to the intensive nature of training, facilities, and professional accreditations involved. Therefore, while the starting tuition is ₦85,288, some students may pay significantly more depending on the course.

Additional Mandatory Charges for Freshers

Apart from tuition and acceptance fee, every new student is also expected to pay other important charges which contribute to a seamless academic experience on campus. These fees support various academic and welfare services.

These include:

  • Medical Fee – for student healthcare

  • Library Access Fee – for using the university library facilities

  • ICT Services Fee – to support internet access and online portals

  • Sports and Student Affairs Fee – for recreational and welfare activities

Note: Some professional and science-based faculties may require extra lab or clinical fees. Always consult your department or visit the official university portal for an accurate breakdown.

OOU School Fees for Returning Students

Returning students at OOU pay slightly lower fees since they are not required to pay the acceptance fee again. However, the tuition fee still varies across faculties and courses.

  • Returning Tuition Fees Range: ₦70,000 to ₦120,000 depending on faculty

  • Other recurring fees include:

    • ICT Charges
