The Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has declared popular singer Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, better known as “Portable,” wanted following allegations of his involvement in a violent attack on state government officials. The police issued a valid court order for his arrest and presentation at any police station after the singer allegedly assaulted officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development during a law enforcement exercise.
The incident occurred on February 5, when three government officials, TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi, were attacked while carrying out an enforcement task at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu, Ota. Reports suggest the officials encountered an elderly man, later identified as Portable’s father, at his Odogwu Bar. Shortly afterward, the singer, accompanied by nine others, appeared at the scene armed with dangerous weapons and attacked the officials.
The attack left the officials with bodily injuries, though they managed to escape the scene. The case was reported to the Ota Area Command and later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
According to a statement from the Ogun State Police Command, nine of Portable’s accomplices were arrested, but the singer himself fled the scene and has been evading arrest ever since. Despite several formal invitations requesting his presence at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, Portable deliberately ignored the summons without any legal representation.
As a result of his refusal to cooperate, the police have now obtained a valid court order declaring Portable wanted. Authorities are urging members of the public to assist in his arrest by providing any information that could lead to his capture. Anyone found aiding or harboring the singer will face legal consequences.
The Ogun State Police Command has encouraged anyone with relevant information to report it to the nearest police station or contact the police through official communication channels.
