Covenant University Begins Sale of Postgraduate Admission Forms for 2025/2026

Covenant University, Nigeria’s leading private university, invites applications from qualified candidates for admission into its full-time Master’s and Ph.D. programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session. General Admission Requirements

All applicants must:

• Complete the online application form at spsadmportal.covenantuniversity.edu.ng
• Upload all required documents, including:
  • Degree certificates
  • Academic transcripts
  • Three reference letters
  • NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate (Nigerian applicants)
  • A 500-word Statement of Intent in the proposed research area

All transcripts must be sent directly by previous institutions to the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies. Only candidates whose transcripts are received will be considered.

Master’s Degree Requirements

Applicants must hold a minimum of Second Class Lower (2:2) in a relevant field from Covenant University or any other approved institution. Candidates with Third Class or HND (Upper Credit) must also hold a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5-point scale. Minimum study duration is two academic sessions (full-time).

Ph.D. Programme Requirements

Ph.D. candidates must:

• Hold a relevant Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from an approved university
• Have a minimum CGPA of 4.00 on a 5.00 scale in the Master’s degree

Candidates with CGPA between 3.50 and 3.99 will be considered for an M.Phil/Ph.D. track. Those unable to meet the 4.00 CGPA requirement after coursework will be awarded an M.Phil degree upon completion of a long essay and successful defense.

Professional Master’s degree holders must present an academic Master’s (e.g. M.Sc.) to be eligible for Ph.D. Minimum Ph.D. duration is three academic sessions (full-time).

Covenant Business School (CBS) – MBA Programme

Applicants must hold at least a Second Class Lower Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. Candidates with Third Class, HND (Lower Credit), or professional qualifications (e.g. ACA, ICAN, ACIB) must also hold a PGD with a minimum CGPA of 3.50. MBA programme duration is two academic sessions (full-time).

Note: All postgraduate programmes at Covenant University are full-time, except the M.Sc/ACIB programme which is part-time.

5. Pay the ₦15,000 application fee (+ ₦600 for bank payment or ₦900 for online payment)
6. Make payments at Covenant University Microfinance Bank, Ecobank, or GTBank
7. Upload your passport photo to receive your application number

Screening Date

The university will communicate the screening schedule to all applicants.
